CHARACTER SERIES: OC (from an original universe)
Appearance: Rondo is about 4'2", a little on the short side for a male of his kind. He has soft, rounded features and an elongated face/jaw as compared to a human. His eyes are brown, his hair is likewise brown and usually well-kept and sleek. His ears are pointed, with several gold earrings each. His build is about midway between lean and soft; basically he looks like a well-tended aristocrat's son who hasn't had to work hard a day in his life. Which is exactly what he is, although he does study very hard.

Offensive subjects (elaborate): As a player, I don't have triggers, but I can be sensitive OOCly to suicide/self harm, transphobia, domestic abuse, rape/sexual violence, and animal abuse. I will play threads wherein these things come up IC but content warnings are helpful as a heads up. I will content warn for these kinds of things in my own responses, as well.

Kissing this character: Ditto above, but he's probably less cagey about kisses than being enveloped in giant human arms.
Flirting with this character: Sure! Expect him to be extremely flustered.
Fighting with this character: Yes, if a logical reason comes up in a thread. He's pretty non-confrontational, although if you do manage to provoke his temper he is an extremely powerful mage and not very well trained yet, so havoc could result.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Anything short of maiming is a go, if there's a reason for it in thread. Otherwise, ask.
Killing this character: No.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Rondo is a mage with telepathic capabilities. Mental conversations won't phase him in the least, but he does have significant mental shields so anything more than surface-level chats will take effort. If you want your character to read his thoughts or influence him, PM me first so we can work out details.
Warnings: Fantasy racism ahoy! Rondo is from a desert planet called Arraka'ar, and while he speaks a variant of English and his people call themselves 'elves' colloquially, they're an alien species that was dubbed thus due to their size, looks and magic, when humans landed on their planet millennia ago.
Much of his planet's history, culture, and religion has been lost, however this is what is commonly known: The first wave of human visitors were merely explorers and scholars, and while relations may have been uneasy at first, there was little to no conflict. This changed after human corporations began to take an interest in the unique metals and other resources on the planet. Mining companies were formed, with mineral rights secured for them, and there was cultural unrest associated with the mining, the economic changes, and the new ideas and technology the humans had brought.
The period of slavery probably began as normal employment for pay, but may have escalated due to debt-servitude and the like. After a while, though, most of the population of Arraka'ar was enslaved and working either in the mines or in more household and office positions for the human invaders.
Then came the revolt. The Arraka'aran Revolution started slow but ended in a wave of rebellions across the planet, and most humans were exiled, imprisoned, or killed. Some do remain on the planet in cities, and there are some Arraka'arans with human blood. These mixed-species elves are sometimes looked down upon, for obvious reasons. Humans as a whole are not viewed favorably in Arraka'ar.
At the point in time where Rondo exists, the Revolution occurred approximately two thousand years ago. Due to the extreme lifespans of his kind, this is effectively a few generations back, but hardly ancient history. Culture is still rebounding, as is the planetary economy; old ways are being rediscovered, and there is a great deal of political push and pull. Tech versus magic, class relations, isolationism versus interplanetary trade, and other issues are heavily, and hotly, debated.
But Rondo is in no position to do much about any of this yet. He's just a student at a magical university, well-to-do but with no strong sense of noblesse oblige, just an immense talent and a great need for caffeine.
